How can we help?

Portfolios

This user guide is intended to help users understand Portfolios.

Portfolios are a fundamental aspect of our product, connecting donors with fundraisers in a way that streamlines communication and engagement. This document outlines the key features, concepts, and functionalities related to Portfolios.

1. Overview

Types of Portfolios

In our product, Portfolios are groups of donors who are associated with a specific fundraiser.

Each fundraiser can have an unlimited number of portfolios assigned to them, but each portfolio can be assigned to only one fundraiser.

Portfolio Equality

Portfolios can have various types (assigned, prospecting, planned giving, etc). It's important to note that while these types may have distinct labels, the Momentum treats all types of Portfolios equally in terms of functionality and handling.

The functionalities and processes related to Portfolios are uniform, ensuring a consistent experience for users.

Member Identification

Members within a Portfolio are identified based on a Source ID, which is obtained from their CRM record. To access more detailed information about each member, we encourage users to refer to the associated CRM document. This integration allows for a comprehensive understanding of each donor's engagement and history.

Adding Donors to a Portfolio

In order to add donors to any given portfolio, navigate to the portfolio page and select “Add Donors.” Alternatively, you can send a csv file to your account manager to more easily handle bulk uploads. This csv file should include the CRM url of each donor you intend to add to a portfolio.

2. Working with Portfolios

Urgency Ranking and Recommendations

Each Portfolio member is ranked based on an internal algorithm that assesses their value. This ranking is derived from various factors, including engagement history and potential contribution impact.

The urgency ranking serves as a basis for generating recommendations, helping you prioritize your interactions and efforts effectively.

Handling Recommendations

For portfolio members who have an active recommendation on their record, a "Handle Rec" button is available in the dashboard.

Clicking on this button provides you with immediate access to pertinent information and actions related to the recommendation.

This feature streamlines the process of addressing donor needs and preferences.
